I am often looking to create spaces for an encounter, along with a place where I can play myself. How do I feel today? What do I want to say? Am I doing something that engages all my being, or just being dragged by the automatism of Western Life? Such questions are often permeated with shallow or automatic answers. Our starting point is to challenge these. Focusing on the concrete idea of inner listening and checking for our own undisguised matter, this workshop invites the participants to explore their inner space in relation to their creative sources.
By inviting the participants to embrace all the challenges that both an individual and a collective process can trigger, a series of exercises will be proposed that are meant to develop a listening practice of our own body. The path is focused on the exploration of the driven force or agent that produces an aeffect: both on the one producing (artist) and on the one that receives the impact (audience).
The essence of the workshop will be approached through exercises for slowing down, exploring softness and connecting with oneself, while interweaving exercises both from the choreographic and holistic sphere. Undisguised Matter is about sharing unapologetically our emotions as a political gesture.
